    TOMTOM : to Supply Telenav Mobile Navigation Customers with TomTom HD Traffic in the US

    TomTom has signed a partnership with Telenav (NASDAQ: TNAV) to deliver improved real-time traffic content to Telenav's mobile navigation customers, including those using the popular Scout? personalized GPS navigation application on iPhone, Android and Windows devices. TomTom's HD Traffic services will deliver enhanced congestion, incident and estimated time of arrival data, resulting in improved traffic-based routing.

    TomTom HD Traffic combines information from over 76 million live data sources, including connected navigation devices, mobile phones, and real time incident data to produce the most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date traffic information for dynamic routing.

    "Traffic is a daily pain point for many drivers and we are passionate about helping our customers save time and reduce stress," said Ryan Peterson, Director of Product Management for Traffic and Navigation at Telenav. "We selected TomTom HD Traffic in order to improve the quality of our traffic services across our mobile apps."

    Added Charles Cautley, Managing Director, TomTom Automotive, Enterprise and Government, "TomTom is committed to providing a dependable, traffic solution to help drivers reach their destinations faster. By integrating TomTom HD Traffic, Scout and Telenav's other GPS navigation services will receive the most precise traffic information possible, delivering significant advantages to their users that will improve their daily commutes."

    On iPhone and Android devices, Telenav's Scout application includes free voice GPS navigation, local search, traffic information, speech recognition, and automatic rerouting. It also features My Dashboard, a customizable home screen that provides users with personalized, real-time commute times to work and home.

    Nee, TomTom heeft al China plannen en een partnership om die te realiseren, namelijk met Autonavi. We wisten dat Inrix ook naar China wil komen, en zij hebben daar ook een partnership voor nodig want die Chinese data kom je niet zomaar aan. Nu is bekend met wie Inrix gaat werken.

    TomTom's award winning HD Traffic is derived by combining information used anonymously from multiple GPS probe data sources. This produces precise delay times and indicates the exact location of congestion on the road network. HD Traffic will use industry standards TMC and OpenLR, TomTom's open source dynamic location referencing technology which brings unique coverage on highways and all major roads including city roads. HD Traffic will be rolled-out as a nationwide service, covering up to 30 important Chinese cities by the end of 2013.

    Of zij moeten er een andere betekenis aangeven, maar het is een veelvoorkomende afkorting. (meestal wanneer een datum nog niet bekend is en dat is in dit geval tegenstrijdig, gezien er een datum bekend is)

    Ik denk dat het gaat om een webinar, waarvan de locatie nog niet zeker is, gezien US tussen haakjes staat?

    Ik beweer alleen dat ik denk dat het om een webinar gaat waarvan de locatie nog niet zeker is. De informatie knop werkt niet en er staat netjes op het tabblad erboven (bij 13feb) dat meer info snel volgt.

    Niets bijzonders denk ik.

    Iets anders wat mij wel opvalt. Er is nog geen tabblad voor 2013 toegevoegd. Wellicht zijn aandeelhoudersvergaderingen niet meer van toepassing? ;-)

    (met een knipoog uiteraard! Maar ook met een dikke korrel zout en misschien toch enige kern van waarheid)
