   Siemens and GE Ink Big Orders with Egypt

   The Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in Sharm El-Sheikh resulted in some big agreements for the Egyptian government including a reported $10.5 billion deal with Siemens and a $1.7 billion order with GE.
   
   The conference was held March 13–15, 2015, and was purported to be a key milestone of the government’s medium term economic development plan, which is designed to bring prosperity and improved social services to the nation’s people.
   
   One of the EEDC’s self-proclaimed objectives was to firmly position Egypt as an attractive destination on the global investment map and it seems to have made a believer out of Siemens. The company announced on Saturday that it would build a 4.4-GW combined cycle power plant in Beni Suef, south of Cairo. It will also install 2 GW of wind power capacity and build a factory in Egypt to manufacture rotor blades for wind turbines.
   
   Siemens signed two additional memorandums of understanding during the event. One will see Siemens propose additional combined cycle power plants with capacity of up to 6.6 GW, while the other would add 10 substations to the country’s grid to improve the reliability of its power supply.
   
   “Egypt needs a powerful and reliable energy system to support its long-term, sustainable economic development, and experienced partners who understand the specific challenges facing the country,” Joe Kaeser, president and CEO of Siemens AG, said in a press release announcing the agreements. “We are part of Egypt’s society and proud to shape Egypt’s future together.”
   
   According to the EEDC’s blog, Egypt’s energy sector was adversely affected by the legacies of two revolutions in 2011 and 2013. Bridging the supply-demand gap and increasing energy efficiency are two of the top priorities in its current policy agenda.
   
   The Beni Suef plant will be built in four modules, each consisting of two H-class gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, one steam turbine, and three generators. The plant will help meet policy objectives in two ways, as it combines high output—helping bridge the supply gap—with record-breaking levels of efficiency.
   
   While the GE deal was only announced on March 13, the company is already well on its way to fulfilling the order. The contract supports the “Egyptian Power Boost Program” by adding 2.6 GW of capacity to meet peak summer demand. GE says that nearly three-quarters of the advanced gas turbines—34 of 46 machines—being supplied have already arrived in Egypt.
   
   GE P&W’s Power Generation Products business, in consortium with Orascom, will build two power plants in Egypt with a total capacity of 1,495 MW utilizing 12 9E heavy-duty gas turbines. GE’s Distributed Power business is supplying 34 aeroderivative gas turbines—14 LM6000 and 20 TM2500+—capable of providing 1,197 MW for onsite electricity.
   
   “The government is creating a positive environment for businesses through the removal of trade barriers, while the private sector brings in the entrepreneurial spirit to build a whole new value chain of small and medium enterprises,” said Jeffrey Immelt, chairman and CEO of GE.
   
   The wind power additions are designed to diversify the country’s electricity supply. The EEDC blog noted that Egypt’s energy mix remains skewed towards hydrocarbons, with 88% of its generation from oil and gas. While the government has set a target of 20% for renewables by 2020, the current mix includes only 9% from hydropower, 2% from wind, and 1% from solar.
   
   “Egypt has great potential for wind power generation, especially in the Gulf of Suez and the Nile Valley,” said Markus Tacke, CEO of Siemens’ Wind Power and Renewables division. “We are proud to be working with the government and people of Egypt to tap this potential.”

   MÜNCHEN (AFN) - Het Duitse technologieconcern Siemens heeft een grote opdracht voor regionaal treinverkeer binnengehaald. Het bedrijf gaat de treinen leveren voor de zogenoemde Rhein-Rühr Express (RRX), een order waarmee ruim 1,7 miljard euro is gemoeid.
   
   Het nieuwe traject moet de verkeersproblemen in Noord-Rijnland-Westfalen helpen oplossen. Nu heeft de deelstaat met ongeveer 10 miljoen inwoners te kampen met grote druk op het openbaar vervoer en het autoverkeer. De belangrijkste verbinding van RRX loopt tussen Keulen en Dortmund.
   
   Siemens levert 82 elektrische Desiro-treinen voor het project en zal 32 jaar lang het onderhoud op zich nemen. De eerste treinen moeten eind 2018 in dienst komen. Het is de grootste opdracht op het gebied van regionaal treinverkeer in Duitsland ooit voor Siemens.
   
   Werkplaats
   
   De opdracht is afkomstig van de gemeenten die betrokken zijn bij het spoorproject. Voor het onderhoud van de treinen bouwt Siemens een werkplaats bij Dortmund, waar ongeveer honderd nieuwe technici aan het werk zullen gaan.
   
   De dubbeldekkertreinen gaan binnen de regio rijden met snelheden tot 160 kilometer per uur. De treinen moeten volgens de planning om het kwartier gaan rijden.

   MÜNCHEN (AFN) - Het Duitse industrieconcern Siemens schrapt wereldwijd opnieuw duizenden banen. Het gaat om 4500 arbeidsplaatsen, waarvan 2200 in eigen land. Dat maakte Siemens donderdag bekend.
   
   In de afgelopen zes maanden schrapte het bedrijf al ongeveer 9000 banen. Met de ontslagrondes wil Siemens de kosten met circa 1 miljard euro verlagen. Volgens topman Joe Kaeser is de reorganisatie van het concern met de nieuwste aankondiging ,,voor het grootste deel voltooid''. De winstgevendheid bij de industriële activiteiten moet volgens hem nog worden verbeterd.
   
   Op dit onderdeel zag Siemens de winst afgelopen kwartaal op jaarbasis met ongeveer 5 procent teruglopen naar 1,7 miljard euro. Daarmee presteerde het bedrijf slechter dan analisten hadden verwacht. Siemens lijkt veel last te hebben van de lage olieprijzen op dit moment.
   
   Nettowinst
   
   Het is onduidelijk of er ook in Nederland banen verloren gaan. Een woordvoerder kon dat donderdag desgevraagd niet aangeven. In ons land telt Siemens ongeveer 2300 arbeidsplaatsen. Wereldwijd werken er ongeveer 342.000 mensen bij Siemens.
   
   De totale nettowinst van Siemens kwam wel fors hoger uit, op 3,9 miljard euro tegen 1,2 miljard in hetzelfde kwartaal vorig jaar. Deze werd zo sterk opgedreven als gevolg van inkomsten die Siemens heeft ontvangen uit de verkoop van onderdelen. De verkoop van de divisie die hoortoestellen maakt, leverde bijvoorbeeld 1,6 miljard euro op. Een belang in BSH dat van de hand werd gedaan, bracht 1,4 miljard euro in het laatje.
   
   De omzet van het concern klom afgelopen kwartaal met ruim 8 procent tot 18 miljard euro. Deze stijging werd vooral veroorzaakt door gunstige wisselkoerseffecten. Ook de orderinstroom groeide stevig, met 16 procent tot bijna 21 miljard euro. Siemens kreeg onder meer grote opdrachten voor zijn treinenonderdeel.

   Siemens to supply turbines to USD 3 bln UK offshore wind farm

   Bloomberg reported that ScottishPower Renewables Limited, selected Siemens AG to deliver turbines for a UK offshore wind farm in a deal that may be worth almost half the GBP 2 billion cost of the project.
   
   ScottishPower said in an e-mailed statement that the utility chose Siemens as its preferred supplier to deliver as many as 102 of its 7 MW systems to the East Anglia One wind farm off Britain’s east coast. The deal is the largest yet for an approved facility in the country’s wind-power industry and it may be worth as much as GBP 850 million.
   
   Ms Keith Anderson, CEO of ScottishPower Renewables, said in the statement that “The project will be the most cost-effective offshore wind farm ever delivered. Selecting the turbine supplier will be the single largest agreement for East Anglia One, and the most significant in terms of achieving important cost-reduction goals.”
   
   Offshore wind is currently one of the most expensive clean-energy technologies costing about USD 176 a MWh compared with electricity from coal at about USD 91, Bloomberg estimates show. UK developers plan to cut this to 100 pounds, or about USD 153, a MWh by the turn of the decade.
   
   ScottishPower’s facility will produce electricity at about GBP 119 a MWh and it will receive premium payments for its power through the UK government’s so-called contracts-for-difference auction. The project will create about 3,000 jobs and when it’s complete in 2020 it will be able to power about half a million homes.
   
   Mr Tom Harries, an analyst at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, said that “Using the Siemens systems could aid in reducing costs through fewer turbines being required for the same sized project.”

   Siemens signs EUR 8 billion power projects deal in Egypt

   Out-Law.com reported that German technology company Siemens has signed a contract worth EUR 8 billion to supply natural-gas-fired power plants and wind power installations in Egypt.
   
   Siemens said in a statement that the projects will boost Egypt's power generation by more than 50% compared to the current installed base, adding 16.4 GW to the country's national grid.
   
   It said that Siemens will work with local partners Elsewedy Electric and Orascom Construction to supply three natural gas combined-cycle power plants, each with a capacity of 4.8 GW. Each plant will be powered by eight Siemens H-Class gas turbines.
   
   Siemens said that these plants will add power to the grid in stages, with an initial 4.4 GW online by the summer of 2017 and the full 14.4 GW available 38 months after financing has closed and advance payments have been received.
   
   Siemens will also deliver up to 12 wind farms in the Gulf of Suez and West Nile areas, with around 600 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 2G W. Siemens will also build a rotor blade manufacturing facility in Egypt's Ain Soukhna region, which will provide training and employment for up to 1,000 people. The facility is scheduled to go into operation in the second half of 2017.
   
   Siemens said that the deal will be financed by Siemens Financial Services, supported by export credit agencies in Germany and Denmark.
   
   It said that Siemens has been doing business in Egypt since 1859 and has maintained a continuous presence in the country since opening its first office in Cairo in 1901.

   Siemens could help with Taiwan power shortage

   Seimens Taipei said that Siemens and Egypt and have signed contracts worth EUR 8 billion for high-efficiency natural gas-fired power plants and wind power installations and similar techniques can be a solution for Taiwan's future power shortages.
   
   The company said that the orders expanding on the memorandums of understanding announced at the Egypt Economic Development Conference held in Sharm el-Sheik in March 2015 will largely boost Egypt's power generation capacity compared to the currently installed base. The projects will add an additional 16.4 GW to Egypt's national grid.
   
   Mr Joe Kaeser, president and CEO of Siemens AG, said that "With these unprecedented contracts, Siemens and its partners are supporting Egypt's economic development by using highly efficient natural gas and renewable technologies to create an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy mix for the country's future."
   
   Siemens will supply on a turnkey basis three natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants, each with a capacity of 4.8GW, for a total combined capacity of 14.4GW. Each of the three power plants will be powered by eight Siemens H-Class gas turbines, selected for their high output and record-breaking efficiency. The plants will add power to the grid in stages. Once completed, the three power plants will be the largest in the world, the company stated.
   
   Taiwan is also facing electricity shortages, especially during peak seasons of power usage. Taiwan's traditional coal-fired power plants are aging and emit high levels of carbon emissions. Responding to a global trend of generating power on a low-carbon basis and considering the full speed development of the national economy highly relying on sufficient power supply, Taiwan shall consider using natural gas instead of coal for power generation to pave the way for its sustainable energy system.
   
   Mr Erdal Elver, President and CEO of Siemens Taiwan, said that "Siemens H-class combined cycle gas turbine ordered by Egypt has achieved a proven and verified world-record efficiency of 60.75%. The high efficiency has made it widely adopted by many prominent power plants in USA, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Turkey. This combined-cycle operation features CO2 emissions up to 75% less than traditional coal-fired plants, thereby providing environmentally friendly power generation."
   
   Siemens will also deliver up to 12 wind farms in the Gulf of Suez and West Nile areas, comprising around 600 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 2 GW.

   HANNOVER (AFN/DPA) - De Duitse concerns Volkswagen en Siemens hebben in de afgelopen tien jaar als geen andere Europese onderneming de banenmarkt in de Europese Unie aangejaagd. Dat maakte advies- en accountantsbureau EY dinsdag bekend.
   
   Volgens het onderzoek zorgde autofabrikant Volkswagen sinds 2005 voor 31.000 nieuwe arbeidsplaatsen in de landen van de EU, exclusief Duitsland. Technologieconcern Siemens kwam bij de Europese bedrijven op de tweede plaats met 16.000 nieuwe banen. In totaal zorgden Duitse bedrijven in de afgelopen tien jaar voor 254.000 nieuwe banen in de EU, Duitsland niet meegerekend.
   
   Ook Amerikaanse bedrijven leverden in het afgelopen decennium veel werkgelegenheid op in de gehele EU, met bijna 400.000 banen. Het gaat daarbij onder meer om concerns als Amazon, IBM en Ford Motor.

   Lagere winst voor Siemens vanwege olieprijs
   
   AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Het Duitse industriele conglomeraat Siemens ag (SIE.XE) heeft iets minder winst gerealiseerd in het derde kwartaal van zijn gebroken boekjaar, door zwakke groei bij zijn energie- en gasdivisie als gevolg van de dalende olieprijzen.
   
   De nettowinst toewijsbaar aan aandeelhouders kwam in de periode tot eind juni uit op EUR1,36 miljard, in vergelijking met EUR1,37 miljard een jaar eerder. Dit was beter dan de EUR1,03 miljard waar analisten geraadpleegd door The Wall Street Journal op hadden gerekend.
   
   De omzet steeg 8% naar EUR18,84 miljard, als gevolg van sterke groei in de onderdelen Healthcare, Energy Management, Digital Factory en Building Technologies. Nieuwe orders stegen met 4%, geholpen door een langlopende opdracht voor treinonderhoud ter waarde van EUR1,6 miljard.
   
   Siemens rapporteerde een industriele winstmarge van 9,5%, lager dan de 10,1% een jaar eerder. Hier hadden analisten gerekend op 9,2%.
   
   Het bedrijf herhaalde zijn guidance voor het volledige boekjaar en zei nog steeds te rekenen op een industriele winstmarge tussen de 10% en 11%. Siemens rekent ook op een winst per aandeel die 15% hoger zal liggen dan de EUR6,37 een jaar eerder, terwijl de omzet stabiel blijft.

    DEN HAAG (AFN) - Industrieel conglomeraat Siemens investeert de komende drie jaar circa 100 miljoen euro in het verduurzamen van de eigen onderneming. Dat maakte het Duitse bedrijf dat uiteenlopende zaken als treinen, gasturbines, medische apparatuur en fabrieksinstallaties produceert woensdag bekend.
    
    Het bedrijf wil de uitstoot van CO2 in 2020 met 50 procent hebben teruggedrongen en wil vanaf 2030 volledig CO2-neutraal opereren. Het concern stoot naar eigen zeggen op jaarbasis nu circa 2,2 miljoen ton uit. Met de aanpassingen verwacht Siemens de energiekosten op jaarbasis met 20 miljoen euro te verminderen.
    
    Volgens een woordvoerder van Siemens heeft het bedrijf in Nederland al stappen gezet. Zo voldoet het kantoor in Hengelo aan de hoogste eisen qua duurzaamheid en zal ook de fabriek daar spoedig worden aangepakt. Ook het Nederlandse hoofdkantoor in Den Haag wordt momenteel verduurzaamd. Die werkzaamheden moeten in november zijn afgerond.

    Sun Wind energy reported that one of Europe’s largest onshore wind power plants gets even larger. Siemens will add 54 additional SWT-3.2-101 wind turbines to Clyde onshore wind farm in Scotland
    
    Siemens (link is external) has received an order for the supply, installation and commissioning of 54 direct drive wind turbines. The SWT-3.2-101 turbines will add another 172.8 MW to SSE (link is external)’s Clyde wind farm in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Siemens will also be providing long-term service for the new Clyde Extension project. With an existing capacity of 350 MW, Clyde is already one of the largest onshore wind power plants in Europe.
    
    The Clyde wind farm already has 152 operational turbines, making it the third largest wind farm in Europe and SSE’s largest project to date. All of the existing turbines are Siemens 2.3 MW units, commissioned in 2011 and 2012. The additional 54 direct drive turbines will have a capacity of 3.2 MW each and a 101-meter rotor diameter.
    
    Mr Thomas Richterich, CEO Onshore at Siemens’ Wind Power and Renewables Division, said that “We are very pleased to continue the long and successful relationship with our customer SSE in an important project like the Clyde Extension. Our direct drive units improve performance, reliability and maintainability. We see this innovation in our products as a stable basis for further collaboration with experienced customers like SSE.”
    
    The two-year construction effort commenced in July 2015 and will support an estimated 500 local jobs through direct employment and the supply chain. The 54 turbines are scheduled for delivery and installation starting in June 2016. The Clyde Extension will be completed in June 2017.

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Siemens ag (SIE.XE) heeft in het afgelopen kwartaal een tegenvallende winstdaling van 33% gerealiseerd, maar het Duitse industriele conglomeraat voorziet groei van winst en omzet voor de komende kwartalen en wil meer geld uitkeren aan aandeelhouders.
    
    De nettowinst in het kwartaal dat eindigde in september daalde tot EUR959 miljoen van EUR1,45 miljard in dezelfde periode een jaar eerder. Analisten hadden op EUR1,2 miljard gerekend.
    
    Een deel van de daling werd veroorzaakt door een afwaardering van EUR138 miljoen in verband met het belang van het bedrijf in Primetals Technologies ltd.
    
    Siemens, dat veel dingen maakt, van treinen tot medische scanners, rapporteerde een winstmarge voor de industriele activiteiten van 10,1%. De doelstelling voor deze maatstaf ligt tussen de 10% en 11%.
    
    De Duitse onderneming stelt een dividenduitkering voor van EUR3,5 per aandeel over het gebroken boekjaar; een verhoging van 6% ten opzichte van het voorgaande boekjaar. Ook kondigde Siemens een aandeleninkoopprogramma aan voor de komende 36 maanden tot een bedrag van EUR3 miljard.

    Opvallend was dat de CEO ook uitvoerig inging op de vluchtelingen tewerkstellein. Niet schrikken: Zie Duitse sites: het kan tot......15 jaar duren voor die vluchtelingen zo'n beetje goed opgeleid zijn en werk in Duitsland kunnen vinden. Tot 15 jaar.... wel een ander verhaal dan je van politici hoort.....
    
    Die 3,50 Euro is een meevaller op een beroerde beursdag...

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Siemens ag (SIE.XE) verhoogt de outlook voor heel zijn gebroken boekjaar 2016 na een sterk eerste kwartaal dat werd gekenmerkt door een flinke stijging van de orders, maakte het Duitse conglomeraat maandagavond bekend.
    
    "We hebben een sterk kwartaal doorgemaakt en zijn goed op weg om onze Vision 2020-strategie uit te voeren", lichtte chief executive officer Joe Kaeser toe.     Siemens verhoogt de winst-outlook voor boekjaar 2016 naar een bandbreedte van EUR6,00 tot EUR6,40 per aandeel, waar eerder nog werd uitgegaan van EUR5,90 tot EUR6,20 per aandeel.
    
    In het eerste kwartaal, dat liep tussen begin oktober en eind december, steeg de nettowinst met 42% tot ongeveer EUR1,6 miljard, of EUR1,89 per aandeel, van EUR1,30 per aandeel in dezelfde periode een jaar eerder.
    
    De omzet steeg in de verslagperiode met 8% op jaarbasis tot EUR18,9 miljard terwijl de orders ten opzichte van een jaar eerder met 27% stegen tot EUR22,8 miljard.
    
    Exclusief de rugwind van gunstige valuta-effecten steeg de omzet in het eerste kwartaal met 4% en de orders met 22%, aldus Siemens, dat maandag aan de DAX in Frankfurt 1,6% steeg tot EUR85,75.

    Siemens to build 12 wind farms in Egypt by 2022
    
    It is reported that Siemens has started work on the first phase of a USD 2.16 billion renewable energy project in Egypt that will see the German industrial company build 12 wind farms with a capacity of 2,000MW of wind energy by 2022.
    
    The Egypt government is in negotiations with top local and international financial institutions to secure funding for the ambitious project.
    
    It said that the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), which is leading the talks with the lenders, plans to finish the negotiations by next month.
    
    The major lenders involved in the negotiations include the National Bank of Egypt, the Banque Misr, Emirates NBD, International Finance Corporation (IFC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
    
    Mr Mohamed Salah El Sobky chairman of NREA said that the plan is to obtain funding for 60 per cent of total project costs from international financing institutions, while the remaining 30 per cent will be sourced from domestic banks.

    Siemens in gesprek met Gamesa
    
    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Het Duitse conglomeraat Siemens is in gesprek met het Spaanse Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica over een mogelijke combinatie van de wind energie activiteiten van beide bedrijven. Dat bevestigde Gamesa vrijdag.
    
    De mogelijke combinatie zou de grootste fabrikant van windturbines creeren.
    
    Vorig jaar sloten de ondernemingen een overeenkomst af over een eventuele samengang van de aan windturbines gerelateerde activiteiten. Het is nog niet duidelijk hoe de nieuwe combinatie eruit zal zien.
    
    Eerder op vrijdag schreef The Wall Street Journal reeds dat de bedrijven in gesprek waren met elkaar, op basis van bronnen. Volgens de krant worden de concerns bijgestaan door de investeringsbanken Goldman Sachs en Morgan Stanley.
    
    Gamesa sloot vrijdag fiks hoger met 18,8% en Siemens won 1,9%.

    Deze gasgestookte centrales zijn Siemens’ grootste opdracht uit de geschiedenis.

    Siemens wins service deal for power plant in Qatar
    
    It is reported that Siemens has been awarded a 25-year service contract for the planned Umm Al Houl combined cycle power plant in Qatar.
    
    The customer is Umm Al Houl Power, a company established through a partnership among Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QWEC), Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Foundation (QF) and K1 Energy (joint venture established by Mitsubishi Corporation and TEPCO Fuel & Power, Incorporated).
    
    The service agreement covers the plant’s six SGT5-4000F gas turbines, four SST5-4000 steam turbines, 10 SGen5-1200A generators including instrumentation and controls service for a period of 25 years. It also provides for an electrical and a resident engineer to be located on-site.
    
    Mr Tim Holt, CEO of Siemens Power Generation Services, Power and Gas, said that “Qatar is experiencing rapid industrial, economic and population growth. Supported by our highly experienced technical experts, our strong presence in the region and in close collaboration with our customer, our advanced services and maintenance solutions will help ensure this important new power plant will operate reliably for many years to come.”
    
    The long-term service agreement is designed to improve the operating capabilities, flexibility and profitability of the Umm Al Houl power plant by boosting efficiency, reliability and availability throughout its entire lifecycle. The agreement will enable implementation of innovative service solutions through preventative maintenance, shortened lead times and on-site technical field assistance.
    
    Mr Fatih Sakiz, CEO, Siemens Qatar, said that “The Umm Al Houl combined-cycle power plant will be an essential part of Qatar’s infrastructure, delivering more approximately a quarter of the country’s installed power generation capacity. This latest agreement is reiteration of Siemens’ commitment to Qatar’s long-term vision and our understanding of the nation’s requirements. We have a long history in Qatar, and we are proud to be working with our partners to support sustainable economic growth.”
    
    The new power plant will be located 15 km south of the capital Doha, adjacent to Qatar Economic Zone. The plant will consist of two power blocks, each in a 3+2 configuration. Each block will consist of three gas turbines which will be used to generate the steam to drive two downstream steam turbines. With a total electrical output of 2.5 gigawatts, and up to 136 million imperial gallons (618 million litres) of drinking water per day, the plant will deliver almost one quarter of the nation's installed power generating capacity.
    
    A statement said that it will ensure adequate power and water supply to accommodate seasonal fluctuations and major events. Commissioning of the first phase is scheduled for 2017, with commissioning of the entire complex scheduled for mid-2018.

    MÜNCHEN (AFN/BLOOMBERG) - Het Duitse conglomeraat Siemens heeft in het tweede kwartaal van zijn boekjaar 2015/2016 geprofiteerd van een hogere vraag naar apparatuur voor stroomopwekking. Het concern handhaafde woensdag zijn vooruitzichten voor het hele jaar, waarin de winst na jaren van stagnatie zal toenemen.
    
    Siemens boekte 28 procent meer winst bij zijn onderdelen die zich bezighouden met stroomopwekking. De totale nettowinst was met 1,5 miljard euro echter fors lager dan de 3,9 miljard euro die in het tweede kwartaal van 2014/2015 werd geboekt. Het resultaat van een jaar geleden bevatte echter 3 miljard euro aan eenmalige baten uit de verkoop van onderdelen.
    
    De omzet steeg met bijna 1 miljard euro tot 19 miljard euro. Siemens verwacht het jaar af te sluiten met een winst per aandeel van 6 à 6,40 euro.

    Siemens en Gamesa fuseren windactiviteiten
    
    Met combinatie ontstaat grootste producent van windturbines ter wereld.
    
    Siemens en Gamesa hebben een akkoord bereikt over het fuseren van hun windenergie-activiteiten. Dit maakten beide partijen vrijdag bekend.
    
    Het belang van Siemens in het fusiebedrijf bedraagt 59 procent, terwijl Gamesa de resterende 41 procent van de aandelen houdt.
    
    Siemens betaalt verder 3,75 euro per aandeel aan aandeelhouders van het Spaanse bedrijf, direct na afronding van de fusie. Dit bedrag van in totaal bijna 1,1 miljard euro komt neer op 26 procent van de aandelenkoers van Gamesa voordat de besprekingen over een samengaan de ronde deden.
    
    Met het fuseren van de windactiviteiten van Siemens en het Spaanse Gamesa ontstaat de grootste producent van windturbines ter wereld. Beide partijen verwachten na een periode van vier jaar jaarlijks 230 miljoen euro aan synergievoordelen te realiseren.
    
    Het hoofdkantoor van het fusiebedrijf komt in Spanje, waar ook de beursnotering zal blijven. De jaarlijkse omzet komt naar verwachting uit op 9,3 miljard euro en het orderboek bedraagt circa 20 miljard euro.
    
    Beide partijen verwachten de fusie in het eerste kwartaal van 2017 af te ronden.
    
    Joint venture met Areva
    
    Gamesa moest nog wel de nodige zaken uitonderhandelen die verband hielden met de joint venture Adwen met het Franse Areva. Het Franse bedrijf zal een put-optie krijgen op het belang van Areva in Adwen en een call-optie op het belang van Gamesa in de joint venture.
    
    In februari dit jaar bereikten beide bedrijven op hoofdlijnen al een principe-akkoord over een samengaan, maar Gamesa moest toen nog onderhandelen met Areva over de samenwerkingsovereenkomst Adwen.
    
    Het aandeel Siemens noteerde vrijdag 0,6 procent hoger op 92,21 euro, Gamesa noteerde 6,2 procent hoger op 18,16 euro.
