    Het liefst 100, maar het zal wel 12 worden.

    AS VEGAS, Jan. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DeepMap and SAIC Motor Innovation Center today announced a partnership focused on high-definition (HD) mapping and localization, a critical component of autonomous vehicle (AV) software. The partnership is a multi-year collaboration.

    SAIC Motor Innovation Center is now running DeepMap software in its self-driving test cars. The vehicles are in operation at GoMentum Station, a private testing facility in Concord, Calif., as well as on public roads near the SAIC Motor Innovation Center facility in San Jose, Calif.

    James Wu, CEO and Co-Founder of DeepMap, said: “In AV development, HD mapping is one of the most complex challenges. DeepMap is providing SAIC Motor Innovation Center with robust, scalable mapping services. This partnership is designed to complement the SAIC team’s progress in developing safe, production-ready self-driving technology in-house.”

    Maxwell Huang, President of SAIC Motor Innovation Center, said: “AVs require a completely new mapping paradigm: high-definition maps built by AVs for AVs, with ultra-precise accuracy and highly-robust map consumption software. DeepMap’s technology vision and business model are in line with the mission of SAIC.”

    Rakesh Gupta, Director of Autonomous Driving, SAIC Motor Innovation Center, added: “In our current testing, we have found DeepMap’s localization services to be highly accurate, especially in dense urban environments.”

    DeepMap's service delivers the capabilities necessary for self-driving cars to navigate in the complex and unpredictable real world by addressing three important elements: precise high-definition mapping, ultra-accurate real-time localization, and the serving infrastructure to support massive global scaling.

    The technology allows HD mapping by autonomous vehicles and for autonomous vehicles. It maps the road environment to the centimeter level, tells the self-driving vehicle precisely where it is and keeps the map fresh by sharing updates with other vehicles, in real time when needed. It also manages the associated data in a very cost-efficient and highly scalable manner.

    Ik vermoed nabeurs een mooi bericht. Morgen een webcast en echt niet alleen om hun boekhoud regels uit te leggen. Dit had ook bij de jaarcijfers gekund. Dus of nabeurs of morgen voorbeurs PB!!!
