Mitac Launches PND range with Integrated Dash Cam in Europe. Mitac Europe has launched this month the new Mio Combo 5107 LM, a combination of a GPS navigation system and a dash cam.The product offers 720p HD video quality, 120° wide-angle lens with F2.4 aperture and a 3-Axis G-sensor which records direction and force, including impact, turns and acceleration.
With the integrated parking mode (that requires an optional battery pack), you are also able to record any activity (i.e. shock) when you are not in your car.
On the navigational front, the new 5 inch widescreen PND comes with Lifetime Map Updates (door TomTom) and “Lifetime Safety Camera“ data (i.e. speed cam locations).
Harold Cobben, Sales Director B2C for Europe at Mitac, explained their focus on the dash cam category: “The trend of recording your journey started in Asia, Russia and Eastern Europe but is gaining traction quickly in Western-Europe. We live in a viral world where drivers want to be able to provide proof of what really happened in case of an accident, and Mio dash cams allow them to do so.”
