   A federal judge in New York has ruled that President Trump's longtime accounting firm must turn over eight years of tax returns as part of a criminal probe of his business dealings. The president's personal attorneys immediately filed a notice of appeal.
   
   Judge Victor Marrero said he could not endorse such a "categorical and limitless assertion of presidential immunity from judicial process."
   
   The ruling comes as part of a criminal investigation by Manhattan district attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr., into alleged hush money the Trump organization paid to two women who claimed they had extramarital affairs with Trump before he took office. The president has denied those accusations.
   
   The Manhattan court battle is part of a multi-pronged effort to pry loose Trump's tax returns. Democrats in Congress are suing the Treasury Department for six years worth of his tax returns under a provision in the law that requires the IRS to hand over any taxpayers' filings to Congress.
   
   California enacted a law to require presidential candidates to disclose their taxes if they wanted to be on the state's primary ballot but a federal judge blocked the law.
   
   Democrats have long claimed that Trump's tax returns could reveal whether Trump's business dealings as a candidate and president reveal conflicts of interest.

   If press reports are accurate this is a disaster in the making.
   
   * Ensures ISIS comeback.
   * Forces Kurds to align with Assad and Iran.
   * Destroys Turkey’s relationship with U.S. Congress.
   * Will be a stain on America’s honor for abandoning the Kurds.

   WASHINGTON - Een vooraanstaand Republikeins senator, Lindsey Graham, heeft zich fel tegen president Trumps beleid in Syrië gekeerd. Graham twitterde dat het plan van Trump om de Amerikaanse militairen uit het noorden van Syrië te halen „een ramp kan betekenen.” Hij vraagt Trump om op zijn besluit terug te komen.
   
   Als dat plan wordt uitgevoerd, dient Graham naar eigen zeggen in de Senaat een resolutie in om het terug te draaien. Hij denkt hier voldoende steun van zowel Democratische als Republikeinse senatoren te hebben.
   
   Trump heeft na een gesprek met de Turkse president Erdogan laten weten dat hij de Amerikaanse militairen en waarnemers in het noorden van Syrië terugtrekt. Turkije wil in dat gebied in de aanval tegen Koerdisch-Syrische strijders. Die zijn volgens Ankara bondgenoten van de PKK, een extremistische Koerdische beweging uit Turkije die onder meer door de Turkse regering als terroristisch is bestempeld.
   
   President Trump heeft zijn besluit de handen af te trekken van Syrië verdedigd met de stelling dat de Verenigde Staten er niets meer te zoeken hebben. Het ’kalifaat’ van de terreurgroep Islamitische Staat (IS) is er doelmatig en voor 100 procent verslagen door het Amerikaanse ingrijpen, maar nu brengen we de soldaten terug naar huis, twitterde Trump.

Die speelden een belangrijke rol bij de strijd tegen IS in het oosten van Syrië. „De Koerden hebben met ons gevochten, maar we hebben ze kolossale hoeveelheden geld en materieel gegeven om dat te doen. Turkey, like the United States, wants regime change in Syria. Russia and Iran support the Assad regime.
    
    "President trump was definitely out-negotiated and only endorsed the troop withdraw to make it look like we are getting something—but we are not getting something," the National Security Council source told Newsweek. "The U.S. national security has entered a state of increased danger for decades to come because the president has no spine and that's the bottom line."
    
    Newsweek granted the National Security Council official anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. The source said it would not be surprising to see a Turkish incursion in the next 24 to 96 hours.

    Trump moest als tegenprestatie de sancties op Rusland opheffen. Sancties opgelegd aan Rusland vanwege de onrechtmatige inval in Oost Oekraine en de Krim. Dit was moeilijk , maar ....
    Nu Zelenskiy vrede sluit met Rusland is er geen reden meer voor de sancties en heeft Trump de mogelijkheid Putin terug te betalen.

    Their aims were profit, not politics. This circle of businessmen and Republican donors touted connections to Giuliani and Trump while trying to install new management at the top of Ukraine’s massive state gas company. Their plan was to then steer lucrative contracts to companies controlled by Trump allies, according to two people with knowledge of their plans.
    
    Their plan hit a snag after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko lost his reelection bid to Volodymyr Zelenskiy, whose conversation with Trump about former Vice President Joe Biden is now at the center of the House impeachment inquiry of Trump.
    
    But the effort to install a friendlier management team at the helm of the gas company, Naftogaz, would soon be taken up with Ukraine’s new president by U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, whose slate of candidates included a fellow Texan who is one of Perry’s past political donors.
    
    It’s unclear if Perry’s attempts to replace board members at Naftogaz were coordinated with the Giuliani allies pushing for a similar outcome, and no one has alleged that there is criminal activity in any of these efforts. And it’s unclear what role, if any, Giuliani had in helping his clients push to get gas sales agreements with the state-owned company.
