    Petercam verhoogt koersdoel TomTom
    AMSTERDAM -  Petercam heeft het koersdoel voor TomTom verhoogd van €7,82 naar €8. Het advies blijft 'kopen'.

    Volgens analist Luuk van Beek van Petercam heeft TomTom een aantal zeer interessaante nieuwe producten aangekondigd. In Las Vegas toonde de fabrikant van navigatiesystemen onder meer een apparaat met file-informatie voor de VS, vergelijkbaar met de Go Live die in Europa al op de matrkt is. Samen met Nike brengt TomTom bovendien een van GPS oorzien horloge op de markt.
    "Wij denken dat de introductie van file-informatie in de VS een belangrijke stap zal zijn in het uitrollen van file-informatie in de VS. Omdat de concurrentie deze informatie niet levert kan het een duidelijk onderscheidende factor worden. Bovendien creëert het mogelijkheden voor de verkoop van abonnementen in de VS, die een hoge marge hebben. Bovendien versterkt het de positie van TomTom in het midden en high-end segment van de markt. Het zou consumenten kunnen verleiden tot het aanschaffen van systemen, waardoor het aantal verjkochte aparaten zal stijgen," denkt Van Beek.
    Ook denkt hij dat het stappen in de markt voor sport en fitness markt zinnig is, omdat Garmin daar ook actief is en heeft laten zien dat het een aantrekkelijke markt is. "Het samen optrekken met Nike geeft TomTom een vliegende start en schept de mogelijkheid om snel een goede positie op te bouwen."

    Van Beek handhaaft dan ook zijn koopadvies en verhoogt het koersdoel naar €8.

The new running watch, unveiled today at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show, will provide athletes with the most dynamic and motivational running experience in the world thanks to its unique functionality, beautiful design, and direct connection to www.nikeplus.com, the world’s leading running community with almost 4 million members.

    The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is designed for high-performance with an extremely clear and readable user interface that delivers the information necessary to the user while in-run. It adds personalization and motivational features to the running experience, including audible sounds, challenges, run reminders and more.

    On-Watch Experience
    The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is designed to be simple and intuitive with only three buttons and a Tap Screen for navigation. During the run, the new Nike+ SportWatch GPS captures location information while showing runners their time, distance, pace, and calories burned on an easy-to-read screen featuring a customizable layout. Throughout the run, the GPS receiver works in tandem with the shoe-based Nike+ Sensor to deliver highly accurate pace and distance data.

    On-watch features include:
    • Tap Screen for setting laps and activating backlight
    • Run History with data from past runs
    • Personal Records including those imported from Nikeplus.com
    • Quick Start with optional shoe-based Nike+ Sensor

    Data from each run is automatically applied to all current Nike+ Challenges, Nike+ Goals, and Nike+ Coach programs in which the runner is participating.

    Athletes who want to get the most out of their run and from the Nike+ SportWatch GPS will have access to a huge catalogue of run routes logged by Nike and published by other runners on streets and trails around the world.

    Each run will be graphically mapped with the help of TomTom technology, and include route notes, elevation and length. Runners will also be able to find the perfect route by searching the catalogue by location, length, difficulty, and even landmarks.

    Since the 2006 launch of Nike+ in partnership with Apple, a variety of Nike+ enabled devices have been introduced to help runners reach their full potential including the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit for iPod nano and iPod touch, the Nike+ SportBand, and the new Nike+ GPS App for use with the iPhone.

    Goede avond,

    Ik ben zelf zeer verrast met de samenwerking met Nike.

    Helemaal omdat tomtom nu in de nek van Garmin Hijgt en ik vind dat T2 Meer en Meer Veelzijdiger en Breder wordt op diverse Gebieden.

    Vroeger dacht m,n bij tomtom alleen aan pnd,s maar anno 2011 is dat inbouw en routeplanner en live traffic.

    ik weet zekers dat de merknaam TomTom en begrip gaat worden net als googlen en dat diverse bedrijven het voordeel zullen zien om te investeren Qua reclames via tomtom.

    Ik denk zelf dat TomTom over 2jaar Misschien Divend gaat betalen ( na afbetaling Telealtlas ) en dat een van de Samenwerkings partners een belang gaat opbouwen in TomTom.

    En ik Denk en Hoop dat TomTom niet overgenomen wordt.

    Ik weet van de samenwerking met Renault maar Mazda ben ik volgens mij nog niet eerder tegengekomen op het forum.
    Als het wel zo is dan is het dubbel geplaatst maar ik ga niet alle draadjes van TomTom teruglezen.

    TomTom VIA officially coming to U.S. and Canada
    2011 gps navigation,

    We had already talked about TomTom VIA series here on Navigadget but CES 2011 in Las Vegas they just officially the new GPS navigation system series for the U.S. and Canada market. All the models in this series include intuitive voice recognition and Bluetooth hands-free calling.

    The new VIA series include 4.3? VIA 1405 and 1435, and the 5? VIA 1505 and 1535. These don’t come with traffic or map updates but the device supports and you can purchase them later.

    VIA 1435 and 1535 will have the brushed-aluminum finish, while the VIA 1405 and 1505 will have boring black plastic look.

    A couple other features on all these new models include the text-to-speech feature, advanced lane guidance, and the easy port windshield mount.

    You’ll have to wait until mid-2011 to get the new North American VIA GPS navigation systems. Prices will start at $170.
