   Het ligt in de lijn der verwachtingen. Google stort zich niet in een avontuur met de eerste de beste. Veel voorwerk gedaan om gezichtsverlies te voorkomen. En nu maar weer eens richting 't Noorden!

   Woensdag - bovengemiddelde omzet - koersstijging 12,7%
   Donderdag - bovengemiddelde omzet - wederom koersstijging.
   Vrijdag of maandag - positief persbericht - behoorlijke koersstijging
   In de loop van volgende week worden posities afgeboekt, en behaalde winsten geind.
   
   Dit zal niet voor de 1e keer zo zijn.

   AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Digitale routekaartenmakers AND Automotive Data, EMG uit China en Orion gaan wereldwijd samenwerken in een alliantie voor de verstrekking van kaartgegevens onder de naam Gobal Digital Mapping Alliance (GDMA) die in Nederland gevestigd zal zijn.
   
   Eerst wordt een haalbaarheidsstudie verricht met de vraag of de markt een onafhankelijke kaartverstrekker nodig heeft en wat de financiele, technische en operationele gevolgen zijn, voordat daadwerkelijk tot levering van routedata kan worden overgegaan.
   
   Doelstelling van GDMA is om de verschillende databases in een uniforme kaartendatabase te synchroniseren en te integreren zodat een wereldwijd kaartennetwerk ontstaat.
   
   AND geeft geen tijdspad voor het moment waarop data kunnen worden geleverd.
   
   AND Automotive Navigation Data heeft een dekkingsgebied van ongeveer 350 miljoen mensen, EMG ongeveer 1,3 miljard mensen en Orion ongeveer 325 miljoen mensen.
   
   AND stelt dat, afhankelijk van de uitslag van het onderzoek, meer regionale kaartenmakers onderdeel zullen gaan uitmaken van GDMA.
   
   Donderdag rond 12.30 uur noteert het aandeel AND 4,8% lager op EUR5,90.

   Onderstaande kreeg ik vanmorgen voorbeurs in mijn mailbox.
   De afzender, Global Digital Mapping Alliance press@gdma.biz (zetel in Dubai), kan mijn mailadres alleen via AND hebben gekregen. Logisch ook, want AND is een van de drie partijen.
   Vreemd is het dat AND er tot op dit moment op hun eigen site geen melding van maakt.
   
   Voorlopig is het een "kijken of het wat kan worden" dat onkosten maakt.
   
   Opmerkelijk is het dat er gister net voor sluiting in een deal 10K aandelen werden verhandeld.

   Three regional mapping companies initiate GDMA, a worldwide mapping alliance
   
   Barcelona - February 18, 2010 - The mapping companies AND Automotive Navigation Data (Netherlands); EMG (China) and Orion (Dubai) received approval from their respective boards to join forces regarding their participation and contribution to the foundation of a Global Digital Mapping Alliance (GDMA) which will establish its Coordination center / Head office in the Netherlands.
   
   On the short term the first objective of GDMA is a feasibility study towards (i) the needs from the market regarding an independent and neutral map data provider offering a worldwide navigable map database and (ii) the related technical / operational / financial consequences; in order to position GDMA in the marketplace.
   
   The initiators of GDMA stress that various issues need to be addressed and answered before GDMA will start to deliver an uniform global map data base. At the moment no time line about map data availability can be disclosed. The aim of GDMA is to synchronize and integrate individual map databases of various mapping companies into ONE GLOBAL uniform Map database in such a way that the LBS/navigation market can profit from improved usability / accessibility of map data and a shorter time-to-market worldwide. Mapping companies which joined this initiative are at the moment: AND (map data coverage of W.Europe with over 350 M people) , EMG (map data coverage of whole Great China with approx 1.300 M people) and Orion (map data coverage of Middle East and North Africa with ca. 325 M people). Subject to a positive result of this feasibility study it is expected that more regional mapping companies will be involved to speed up the global map coverage of GDMA.
   
   Ultimately; all regional mapping companies combined in GDMA, as A NEUTRAL / INDEPENDENT map supplier, want to offer the market a global map database that enables the high performance of a wide scope of applications / services such as Navigation, Telematics, Location-based-Services, mobile / Web - based services, etc. etc.

   Wat is hier positief aan? Samenwerking zonder verplichtingen. Geen fusie of overname. Een soort alliantie. Bovendien is het maar de vraag wat de kwaliteit van de kaarten is van die andere bedrijven. AND is altijd goed in het zeer groots aankondigen van nieuwsberichten, maar achteraf valt het altijd tegen. Het zal ook geen toeval zijn dat ze dit nieuws naar buiten hebben gebracht op de dag dat TomTom haar cijfers naar buiten brengt. Zolang de huidige directie van AND er zit zal ook nooit de aandelen kopen.

    In dit geval wordt er een andere kunstje opgevoerd... AND zelf, zo wil men het doen geloven, heeft helemaal niets gedaan.
    Dat maakt het alleen maar mysterieus.

    Dit is niet verkeerd. Voor een individuele gebruiker maakt deze club niets uit, maar ze kunnen gezamenlijk globale spelers met generieke applicaties bedienen.
    
    Voor AND kost dit in eerste instantie alleen maar geld.
