    Meer winst voor JPMorgan Chase
    NEW YORK (AFN) - De Amerikaanse bank JPMorgan Chase heeft in het derde kwartaal een nettowinst behaald van 4,4 miljard dollar tegen 3,6 miljard dollar een jaar eerder. Dat maakte de op een na grootste bank van de Verenigde Staten woensdag bekend.

    De winststijging is onder meer te danken aan de lagere verliezen op consumentenleningen en creditcards. De totale baten bedroegen in het derde kwartaal 24,3 miljard dollar. De zakenbankdivisie droeg 5,4 miljard dollar bij aan de inkomsten.

    De winst per aandeel kwam uit op 1,01 dollar. Analisten ondervraagd door persbureau Reuters rekenden op een winst per aandeel van 90 cent.

    If it treads carefully, TomTom still has a healthy chance of winning significant share in the Chinese market. Poor navigation accuracy ranks as the biggest complaint among Chinese consumers about PNDs, whose accuracy depends on their digital map data and routing engines - otherwise strong areas for TomTom.

Together, these two products have given Chinese users a peek into TomTom's features.

    All told, the company has a ripe opportunity to ride the wave of the biggest automotive market in the world. But as OEM embedded in-vehicle systems, aftermarket navigation systems and smart phone navigation applications gain more traction in China, TomTom is sure to face its share of challenges.
