    Ziet er goed uit,tegen de markt in omhoog en dollar trekt aan.Heeft even ruim 12% hoger gestaan door een pb.(zie yahoo.com finance gnbt)over vogelgriep.Klote dat het sentiment zwaar tegen zit anders hadden we omhoog geknald.Maar toch goed teken als je naar de rest kijkt die zwaar doorzakken.

    Het kan ook zomaar - zoals zo vaak bij gnbt - dat de koers bij een PB hoger wordt gezet zodat handelaar zijn eerder gekochte stukken kan verkopen. Morgen weer gewoon omlaag ? Ik weet het niet maar laat je niet foppen.

    Lung Function Tests Might Be Affected in Diabetic Patients and Correlated with Other Late Complications

    Results:

    Lung abnormalities could be presented in diabetic patients. The aim of this study was to assess associations of lung function abnormalities with other late complications and to determine predictive factors for their development. Forty-eight type 1 diabetic patients (25 male and 23 female; 41}15 yrs. old; diabetes duration 17}12 yrs.) without overt lung disease and with no history of smoking were studied. Diabetes duration, patient's age, pulse pressure (PP), protein excretion rate (PER), creatinine clearance, lipid values, glycated haemoglobin and body mass index (BMI) were determined and put into correlation with diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide corrected by alveolar volume (DLCO/VA), forced expiratory flow in the first sec. (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF) and forced expiratory flow when 50% of the forced vital capacity had been exhaled (FEF50) were determined. Lung parameters were also correlated with autonomic neuropathy and retinopathy. ANOVA revealed significant difference in DLCO/VA, FEF50, and FEV1 between the groups of patients according to proteinuria (p=0.001, p=0.014 and p=0.039, respectively), and in DLCO/VA, FEF50 and PEF between the groups of patients according to retinopathy (p=0.006, p=0.015 and p=0.038, respectively). Autonomic neuropathy was determined in 9 of 21 (42.8%) patients with normal DLCO/VA, but in 19 of 27 (70.4%) patients with lower DLCO/VA. After stepwise regression method PER was found out as the most important variable in the prediction of DLCO/VA (R½2=0.55); PER and PP in the prediction of FEV1 (R½2=0.38); PER and diabetes duration in the prediction of FEF50 (R½2=0.31). DLCO/VA correlated significantly with PER (p=-0.002) and creatinine clearance (p=0.009), but not with diabetes duration (p=0.146). Restrictive and obstructive lung abnormalities in type 1 diabetic patients could be explained by microangiopathic and interstitial changes, but could also be affected by neuropathy. PER was found to be the strongest predictor of DLCO, FEV1 and FEF50.

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--Volgens chemieconcern Akzo Nobel kan een biotechnologische doorbraak in de nabije toekomst leiden tot een vaccin tegen vogelpest en pseudovogelpest.

    Het bedrijf zegt dat onderdeel Intervet, een onderdeel van Akzo Nobel dat diergeneesmiddelen produceert, samen met Duitse wetenschappers een prototype heeft ontwikkeld van een nieuw vaccin, dat beschermt tegen beide infecties en dat niet geinjecteerd hoeft te worden. In plaats daarvan wordt het middel toegediend door verneveling.

    Akzo Nobel plant voor volgend jaar 'veldproeven' met het nieuwe vaccin.

    Eerder dit jaar leidde een uitbraak van de vogelpest tot wereldwijde paniek. Het H5N1-virus, zoals de vogelpest meer officieel heet, is zeer besmettelijk. In Azie zijn tientallen miljoenen vogels eraan gestorven of afgemaakt, omdat ze er mogelijk mee besmet waren. Er zijn ook minstens 61 mensen, voornamelijk pluimveehouders, aan het virus overleden.

    Het virus wordt vermoedelijk verspreid door trekvogels. Gevreesd wordt dat als het virus muteert en van mens op mens kan worden overgedragen, er een wereldwijde pandemie zal ontstaan die miljoenen mensen het leven kan kosten.

    Ik vraag me af is dit goed of slecht voor GNBT,het zegt wel wat over het potentiele gevaar wat dreigd!

    Ik ook. Ik denk zelfs al op 0.81 usd.

    Die vogelgriep moeten we toch nog goed in de gaten houden. Op de tv zag ik iemand verkondigen dat men er niet twijfelt dat die vogelgriep er komt. Alleen waneer kan niemand zeggen.
