This week at the American Academy of Neurology 2023 Annual Meeting in Boston, Dr. Jim Guest, MD, PhD and Clinical Professor, Department of Neurological Surgery for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, presented more detailed Up-LIFT study results, sharing from the podium that the study met all primary safety and effectiveness endpoints.
Up-LIFT is the first global pivotal study to evaluate the effect of non-invasive spinal cord stimulation on strength and function of the hands and arms after spinal cord injury (SCI).
Dr. Guest also noted that 72% of study participants responded to ARC-EX Therapy*, defined as showing clinically and statistically significant improvement in at least one pre-selected strength and at least one pre-selected functional performance outcome. This is an important finding given the historical lack of effective therapies for people with chronic spinal cord injuries.
We are pleased to share these important additional study results conveyed by Dr. Guest, and we expect more Up-LIFT study data to be made available in the coming months when the study manuscript is published.
ONWARD is committed to developing therapies to address unmet medical needs for people with SCI. We are working hard to make ARC-EX Therapy broadly available, targeting FDA submission later this year.
Please join me in thanking the many therapists, clinicians, and people with spinal cord injury who contributed to this landmark study.
Warm regards,
