    Even bedenken, alles over Butamax en BP/DuPont is nu ook positief (of negatief) voor Gevo.

    De laatste regels van het interview:
    When asked whether the recent settlement between the companies could mean an upcoming DuPont purchase of Gevo and its patents, Kitt said that a buyout would make sense. Gevo's stock price dropped 99 percent since a peak in 2011.

    The details of the settlement, Kitt said "create two pieces that fit together well."

    How big is the addressable market?

    Well, that gets tricky; there doesn’t seem to be an easy-to-find stat on how much fuel is used by powerboats, much less all outdoor uses where there’s a market for ethanol-free fuel.

    But we know it’s big. The 2011 Recreational Boating Survey found 10.11 million power boats in the US. 70% of them were operated in the past year, and an average of 75 hours of operation and an average of 100 horsepower in the engine. Boating Magazine advises a rule of thumb of 0.5 pounds of fuel per HP per hour, without taking into account boat drag., sea conditions and so on. Putting all those together, we came up with a 4.4 billion gallon addressable market for powerboats. We’d be guessing at fuel sales for home-based outdoor power equipment, but there’s additional market available.

    Now, addressable is one thing, sales are quite another. But, there’s some heft in this sector when mapped against Gevo’s capacity and any capacity Butamax might develop. And, ample evidence of an ethanol-free premium that isobutanol, if well-positioned, might capture some of, or even all of.

    Overigens, 12,5% is niet de geadviseerde mix, het is 16,1% butanol.

    Maar als we rekenen met 12,5 dan is 4,4 miljard gallons brandstof toch ook 550 miljoen gallon butanol. Dat is 30 keer de capaciteit van Luverne. Dus het meeste zal via licentienemers gemaakt worden.

    Dan verdient Gevo er misschien netto 5 cent per gallon op (ik ben hier even heel conservatief, ze betalen bij deze niveau's ook royalties aan Butamax, hoewel ze die later ook weer van Butamax kunnen gaan ontvangen, in mijn visie is de Marine markt de eerste die rijp is).

    Levert de Marine markt dus een netto opbrengst van 27,5 miljoen.

    Pacific Ethanol wordt momenteel gewaardeerd tegen een P/E van ruim 14. Voor een 'disruptor' mag je dat hoger zetten, maar dat doen we niet.

    14 x 27,5 is 385 miljoen beurswaarde.

    Ik ga uit van verwatering naar 20 miljoen aandelen en kom uit op ruim 19 dollar per aandeel.

    En dat is alleen de Marine markt. Gevo kan nog veel meer.

    Ik zie overheden meer als remmende factor in dit soort gevallen. En een Waterschap is meer iets voor droge voeten. Heb trouwens een sterk vermoeden dat zij het ook niet zo op hazen hebben...

    het was meer eufemisme bedoeld: de krs van GEVO komt onder water te staan?

    PS: hazen houden ook niet van water.

    Als voorbereiding op de winter/jachtseizoen merk ik iets bijzonders op:
    Jaren lang bracht ik mijn wintervoorraad naar mijn vriend Knabbel. (die heeft 'n KnabbelBank). Als ik er 10 bracht deed Knabbel er 2 bij
    Vandaag wilde ik 10 hazelnoten laten stallen : Daarop zei knabbel dat is dan 9 !
    Ik zeg Waarom : die éne is voor mij zei KnabbelBank;-)

    Gulf Racing Fuels has been working with Gevo, the renewable supplier of isobutanol, on this product. Gulf Racing Fuels provided some of the fuel to Gevo for use in the testing done by the NMMA.

    The NMMA endorsed the fuel created by Gevo and Gulf Racing Fuels this summer, stressing the need for an exception for marine use to the E15 mandate. NMMA gave the warranty statement saying they would warrant the fuel in every system of the boat, and they encouraged and endorsed the use of the Gulf Marine Fuel over ethanol-based gasoline.

    “I can’t think of another time when any manufacturer has endorsed one particular fuel over another,” said Jess Hewitt, president of Gulf Racing Fuels. “To me, that was extraordinary. I have never seen an industry group do that.”

    Twee rijstroken op de A9 in de richting van Amstelveen zijn maandag afgesloten geweest ter hoogte van knooppunt Velsen. Er lag een motorjacht op de weg.
