   Porsche Accelerates Activities in eBike Segment

   Porsche wants to increase its activities in the eBike segment. To this end, two joint ventures founded by Porsche and the Dutch company Ponooc Investment has begun business. Ottobrunn Munich based Porsche eBike Performance will develop electric drive systems for two wheelers. These include motors, batteries and the necessary software architecture for connectivity solutions. Stuttgart-based P2 eBike, powered by Porsche intends to use these drive systems to launch a new generation of Porsche eBikes from the middle of this decade.
   
   In addition to compact drive systems from Fazua, Porsche eBike Performance will develop and produce particularly powerful eBike drive systems under the Porsche brand name. Both product categories will be distributed to eBike manufacturers worldwide in the future, with the newly founded joint venture acting as a technology partner. The electric drive systems will be used in Porsche eBikes as well as in the products of other brands.
   
   In recent months, Porsche has acquired stakes in several companies in the eBike segment. In addition to the Croatian eBike brand Greyp, these include Fazua. In June, Porsche increased its stake in the company from 20 to 100 per cent. Based in Munich, Fazua is known among experts as the founder of ‘light’ eBikes. It will now be merged into Porsche eBike Performance GmbH.
   
   Independent of the joint venture activities, Porsche is continuing to work with its long-standing partner, Rotwild, on its current eBike models. In March 2021, the company launched its interpretation of exclusive electric bikes with the Porsche eBike Sport and the Porsche eBike Cross.
   
   In addition, Porsche Digital offers a platform for digital services relating to cycling under the Cyklær brand. This project gives a glimpse of how much innovative power is contained in the new joint ventures: the multi-award-winning Cyklær Bike was developed together with Fazua and Greyp.

   Mahindra and the Volkswagen intend to expand their cooperation. Both companies signed a term sheet on the supply of MEB electric components for Mahindra’s new, purpose-built electric platform INGLO, deepening the partnering agreement from earlier this year. The cooperation intends to have a volume of more than one million units over its lifetime and includes the equipment of five all-electric SUVs with MEB components. In addition, the two companies will explore further opportunities for collaboration, opening the perspective towards a broader strategic alliance to accelerate the electrification of the Indian automotive market.
   
   Mahindra showcased their new electric SUV family at the Mahindra Born EV vision unveiling event in Banbury in United Kingdom. The electric SUVs will be launched on the all-new INGLO platform architecture and are envisaged to be equipped with MEB components including the electric drivetrain, the battery system and battery cells. The term sheet covers all major commercial and technical terms, along with a path to the potential localization of the battery system. The final supply agreement will be negotiated in a constructive and legally compliant way by the end of 2022.
   
   Regarding the next step towards a possible strategic alliance for India, both companies agree to explore further potential areas of collaboration in the field of e-mobility, including vehicle projects, the localization of battery cell manufacturing and charging, and energy solutions for the electric ecosystem in India.
   
   With around three million new vehicles per year, India is one of the five largest automobile markets in the world and, along with China, the only region to record an increase in new registrations in the first half of 2022. The electrification of the passenger car segment is expected to gain significant momentum in the coming years.

   Bloomberg: VW stelt toegang grondstoffen accu's veilig in Canada
   
   OTTAWA (ANP/BLOOMBERG) - De Duitse autoproducent Volkswagen heeft een deal gesloten met Canada om de toegang tot grondstoffen zoals nikkel, kobalt en lithium voor de productie van batterijen veilig te stellen, zeggen ingewijden tegen persbureau Bloomberg.
   
   De Duitse bondskanselier Olaf Scholz, die in Canada is voor energiebesprekingen, zou de overeenkomst tijdens zijn reis ondertekenen. Hiermee krijgen de fabrieken van VW in de Verenigde Staten niet alleen makkelijker toegang tot grondstoffen. Ook zouden de Duitsers hiermee problemen met handelstarieven en belastingregels kunnen vermijden.
   
   De Amerikaanse president Joe Biden gaf vorige week zijn goedkeuring voor nieuwe regels rond de aanschaf van elektrische auto's. Zo kunnen consumenten in de VS een belastingverlaging tot 7500 dollar blijven krijgen voor zo'n auto, mits de fabrikant voldoet aan bepaalde eisen. De grondstoffen moeten bijvoorbeeld worden gewonnen of verwerkt in landen waarmee de VS een vrijhandelsovereenkomst heeft. Daarbij moet een groot deel van de batterijcomponenten in Noord-Amerika worden vervaardigd of geassembleerd.

   HAMBURG/LONDON, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Preliminary steps to list Porsche on the stock market are expected in the coming days, six people familiar with the matter said, adding executives at parent Volkswagen and family members were gathering to sell the idea to wary investors.
   
   A flotation would test the investor appeal of Europe's largest automaking group as the continent grapples with the economic impact of the war in Ukraine, the threat of gas rationing and recession, and the most severe inflation in decades, driven by energy costs.
   
   When stock market volatility has reduced the number of listings, a long-awaited public sale would also demonstrate the extent of appetite for a stake that gives a share in a prestigious brand but is too small to influence boardroom decisions.
   
   The boards of Volkswagen and its biggest shareholder Porsche SE are expected to make a recommendation in the coming days, which would then go to the companies' supervisory boards for approval, the people said.
   
   That would trigger an announcement of the initial public offering (IPO) or "intention to float," as soon as the first week of September, the people said, marking the beginning of a roughly four-week period for buyers to get ready to invest.
   
   Still no final decisions have been taken, three of the people said, as uncertainty linked to the Ukraine war and an escalating energy crisis could lead management to decide to wait.
   
   Volkswagen and Porsche SE announced initial talks on a listing on Feb. 22 and gave more details on Feb. 24, the day Moscow invaded Ukraine, marking the biggest attack on a European state since World War Two.
   
   Even if management gives approval for canvassing investors, the group could halt the listing should attempts to secure demand fail, one of the people said.
   
   The people declined to be named because they were not authorised to speak to the press.
   
   Volkswagen, Porsche SE and Porsche AG all declined to comment.
   
   Some investors are reluctant because just 12.5% of all stock will be sold on the open market.
   
   One of the people told Reuters investors were taking a critical attitude and described the situation as fluid, but said a stock market listing was the likely outcome.

    ‘Dromen waarmaken is wat ons drijft’, zei Oliver Blume, topman van VW en Porsche na de bevestiging maandag dat het luxeautomerk binnen vier weken naar de beurs gaat. Met een recessie voor de deur in Europa tonen beide automerken branie.
    
    VW wil de aandelen ook aanbieden aan particulieren. Ook toen het Italiaanse Ferrari in 2015 in een onguur klimaat een notering kreeg, werden kleine beleggers gepord. Ferrari-eigenaren kregen zelfs brieven thuis. Het aandeel stoof uit de startblokken. Beleggers die toen instapten, boekten een uitstekend rendement.
    
    Particulieren die nu meteen warmlopen voor Porsche, moeten weten dat slechts weinig aandelen worden aangeboden. En wie aandelen kan krijgen, heeft niets te vertellen. De met elkaar vergroeide families Porsche en Piëch nemen een belang waaraan alle zeggenschap wordt verbonden.
    
    Jaren geleden waren de families, na de mislukte overname van VW, gedwongen hun bedrijf aan VW te verkopen. Nu worden ze weer de bovenliggende partij bij hun voormalige bedrijf.
    
    Verder moeten particulieren concurreren met kapitaalkrachtige beleggers die hun hand opstaken bij het polsen van de interesse. Neem de koninklijke familie uit Qatar, die allang aandeelhouder is van VW. Hun fonds aast op 2,5% van de beschikbare 12,5% in Porsche.
    
    Verder zouden de rijkste man van Frankrijk, Bernard Arnault (LVMH), en de rijkste man van Oostenrijk, Dietrich Mateschitz (Red Bull), interesse hebben. Of de laatste werkelijk wil instappen, is de vraag. Een beoogde samenwerking tussen Porsche en Red Bull in de Formule 1 lijkt afgelopen weekend geklapt. Het had de beursnotering extra kunnen kleuren.
    
    Gezien de zwakke euro zullen Amerikaanse beleggers ook warmlopen. Voor de begeleidende Wall Street-banken Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs en JPMorgan wordt de grootste beursgang in Europa in jaren sowieso een goudmijntje.
    
    Ceo Blume sprak van ‘een historisch moment’ met ‘meer onafhankelijkheid’. Op dat laatste valt wat af te dingen, niet in de laatste plaats omdat hij topman is van zowel VW als Porsche. VW houdt na de beursgang een ruime meerderheid en blijft Porsche volledig consolideren. Ook de bestaande samenwerking in productie en op het vlak van strategie blijft bestaan.
    
    VW kan flink profiteren als Porsche stijgt op de beurs. Het strijkt sowieso €15 mrd tot €20 mrd op met de verkoop van Porsche-aandelen. De helft daarvan wordt uitgekeerd als speciaal dividend. Dat komt de families Porsche en Piëch als VW-aandeelhouder, die immers een deel van de Porsche-aandelen willen kopen, goed uit. Ze betalen een premie van 7,5% op de uitgiftekoers.
    
    Wat de familie en toekomstige beleggers zeker zal bevallen: de goudgerande winsten van Porsche zullen op termijn niet langer in de zakken van de moeder verdwijnen met zijn twaalf deels kwakkelende merken.

    Dat prijsverschil is inderdaad hoog en hardnekkig, omzet in de pref aandelen is veel hoger dan in de ordinary stukken terwijl de koers dus 30% lager ligt.
    
    Een alternatief zou kunnen zijn om gewoon het aandeel Porsche Holding SE te kopen (ca 70), Deze bezit 50% van de VW aandelen en wenst een aandeel (25%) te verkrijgen in de IPO Porsche AG notering. Ingewikkeld. Het zou me ook niet verbazen als deze (SE) notering tot verwarring gaat leiden en dat daarom er wellicht wat speculatie komt in de Porsche SE stukken.
    
    Ze hebben wel lef om in het huidige klimaat deze IPO er door heen te drukken.

The goal is to consistently improve the charging experience with the help of customer feedback and to provide money savings at the charging station. Elli charging-tariff customers as well as users of SEAT and CUPRA Easy Charging, ŠKODA AUTO Powerpass and, in future, Volkswagen We Charge will benefit from the partnership as they will immediately be able to redeem the &Charge kilometres they have collected for Elli charging vouchers.
    
    Users collect the needed &Charge kilometres by completing various activities using the &Charge app, a leading platform that combines smart user engagement with value-added services related to electric car charging. This works by, among other activities, shopping in one of the 1,500 partner shops across Europe &Charge (and-charge.com), evaluating charging stations and enriching charging station data.
    
    Drivers of electric cars who provide, for example, live information on the &Charge app about the charging infrastructure and the recently completed charging process itself will receive a reward of at least 10 &Charge kilometres for each contribution. Users can now exchange their collected &Charge kilometres for Elli charging credits worth EUR 4 (50 &Charge kilometres) and EUR 20 (250 &Charge kilometres). Credit can be redeemed in the Elli, SEAT, CUPRA, ŠKODA AUTO and Volkswagen charging apps.
    
    Actively participating in activities and using the &Charge app are also rewarded with points called enthusiast points. These points will enable users to obtain additional benefits on the &Charge platform on a step-by-step basis.

    Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Expands Renewable Energy in Spain

    Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced another milestone along the way to zero in Spain. The two photovoltaic systems in the Spanish town of Tordesillas have a total annual capacity of around 74 million kilowatt-hours. Not far from Valladolid in the Castile and León region, no fewer than 100,000 modules spread across more than 18 hectares are converting sunlight into electricity.
    
    As part of its GRIP 2030 corporate strategy, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles intends to raise the percentage of battery-electric vehicles that it sells to over 55% by 2030. With its support for expanding renewable energy, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is already increasing the amount of electricity from renewable sources that is available in the grid, thus laying the foundations for its electric vehicles to be used on a carbon-neutral basis.
    
    Expanding renewable energy is particularly important for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles because electric vehicles will only be able to make their full contribution to climate protection if they actually run on green electricity. Through partnerships such as that with the energy provider Statkraft in Tordesillas, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be supporting the carbon-neutral use of its electric vehicles in the future. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has set itself the objective in Europe of reducing the carbon footprint of all vehicles across their entire life cycle by 40 per cent by 2030 compared with 2018. The new all-electric ID. Buzz1) plays a key role in this. From autumn 2022 onwards, the vehicle will be handed over to customers in its first markets with a net carbon footprint of zero, thus continuing the series in the all-electric ID family.

    Beursgang Porsche legt verborgen waarde in Volkswagen bloot
    
    Gisteren vermeldden we al in ons beursbericht dat Volkswagen definitief besloten heeft om een deel van hun belang in Porsche naar de beurs in Frankfurt te brengen indien de beursomstandigheden niet verder verslechteren. Vandaag ga ik wat dieper in op deze, naar verwachting, zeer gunstige ontwikkeling voor onze cliënten waarvoor wij in Volkswagen beleggen. Maar allereerst probeer ik wat onduidelijkheid weg te nemen. Er zijn namelijk twee bedrijven met Porsche in de naam, te weten Porsche Automobil Holding SE en Porsche AG. Porsche Automobil Holding SE is het beleggingsvehikel van de oprichters van Porsche en Volkswagen en staat al jaren aan de Duitse beurs genoteerd. Ook is het opgenomen in de DAX index. Het grootste bezit van deze holding is de 53,3 procent in de Volkswagen Groep. Porsche AG daarentegen, is het bedrijf dat de sportieve auto’s produceert en verkoopt. Het is nu nog volledig bezit en de cash cow van de Volkswagen Groep. Afgelopen jaar realiseerde Porsche AG bijna 50 procent van de operationele winst van Volkswagen terwijl het maar 3 procent van het totale aantal door de Volkswagen Groep verkochte auto’s betrof. Dit Porsche AG wordt nu dus deels ergens in de komende weken naar de beurs gebracht. De opbrengst zal gebruikt worden voor de elektrificatie van het volledige wagenpark van de Groep. Er zullen meer elektrische modellen aangeboden worden, er zal de nodige software ontwikkeld worden en de bouw van batterijfabrieken zal ermee worden gefinancierd. Dit alles zal de komende vijf jaar ruim 89 miljard euro gaan kosten. In 2026 zal hiermee een kwart van de verkochte auto’s van de Volkswagen Groep elektrisch aangedreven moeten zijn.
    
    De aandelen Porsche AG zullen ook aan particulieren aangeboden worden. Zo profiteert het bedrijf van de grote schare loyale fans. Ze kunnen intekenen op slechts 12,5 procent van de aandelen. Deze aandelen zullen dividend preferent zijn maar geen stemrecht hebben. Van deze 12,5 procent is al bijna 2,5 procent weggekaapt door de Investment Authority van Qatar. De andere helft (plus één) van de plaatsing van totaal 25 procent van de aandelen Porsche AG zijn gewone aandelen met stemrecht. Deze zijn gereserveerd voor Porsche Automobil Holding SE. Zo houden de stichters van het fameuze merk een controlerende zeggenschap in de luxe automaker. Ze hebben toegezegd voor deze zeggenschap een premie van 7,5 procent te betalen op de uiteindelijke prijs op de beurs voor de preferente aandelen.
    
    Volkswagen heeft zijn beleggers beloofd om 49 procent van de winst op de verkoop van de preferente en gewone aandelen Porsche AG begin 2023 uit te keren als een speciaal dividend. Een logische voorwaarde hiervoor is dat de plaatsing een succes wordt. Een minpuntje, naast het ontbreken van stemrecht, is dat de vers aangetreden CEO van de Volkswagen Groep, Oliver Blume, ook de CEO van Porsche AG is. Beleggers zien deze ‘twee petten’ niet zo zitten.
    
    Analisten schatten in dat de waarde van Porsche AG met de beursgang op zo’n 60 à 85 miljard euro zal gaan uitkomen. Deze schatting is onder andere gebaseerd op de beurswaarde van Ferrari dat een beurswaarde heeft van ongeveer 35 maal de verwachte winst voor 2023. Sportieve automerken krijgen een veel hogere waarde toegekend op de beurs dan de doorsneemerken. Bij een waarde van 85 miljard euro, of ongeveer 280.000 euro per afgeleverde auto, zal het de grootste beursgang ooit in Europa zijn. Tot op heden is dit de beursgang van Deutsche Telekom in 1996. De beursgang zou bij een dergelijk daverend succes een stevige verborgen waarde bij de Volkswagen Groep blootleggen. De Groep is immers op de beurs zelf slechts zo’n 83 miljard euro waard, ongeveer vijf maal de verwachte winst over 2023. Dus wat denkt u dat de aandelen Volkswagen zullen gaan doen zodra deze verborgen waarde gerealiseerd wordt? Precies, deze zal deels worden ingeprijsd want Volkswagen behoudt 75 procent van Porsche AG. We houden de aandelen Volkswagen dan ook stevig vast.
