Hey I work for Zeiss IQR (Industrial Quality).
Zeiss is a technology company with 4 main segments, Meditec, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Industrial Quality, and Vision Care.
Meditec is the only one traded on the stock market and is not related to the semi conductor part of the business. Therefore investing in Meditec if you're interested in semiconductors doesn't make sense.
I'm not sure why Zeiss doesn't trade its overall business on the stock market. I'm not an expert on stocks and the pros/cons of a business going public. But it's interesting considering they have 40k plus employees and are still mostly privately owned
